Situation
You are doing a thoracotomy for a 2cm
non small cell nodule in the left upper lobe, and you find an unexpected 1 cm
nodule in the LLL, what do you do ?
Frozen section of both nodules, to determine if you are dealing with 2 primaries or metastasis. If metastasis you would try and remove both via wedge resection. If you are dealing with 2 primaries, your management depends on underlying patient, pulmonary and nodule location factors, since options include 2 wedge resections up to a pneumonectomy.
