Situation
A patent with known carcinoma of the RUL, has chemotherapy with a good response. But on review of the post chemo CXR their is now a paralysed right hemi diaphragm. Is it now inoperable ?
No, the patient has probably got mononeuritis multiplex or chemotherapy induced neuropathy. (A fact confirmed at thoracotomy where the phrenic nerve was not involved at all).
