Situation
A patient with a 2 cm non small cell carcinoma in the left lower lobe has left rib pain preoperatively. A bone scan reveals 3 isolated rib hot spots one below the other in a straight line just where it hurts. What would you do ?
As isolated ? mets, but in a straight line it is more likely the patient has fallen or knocked the ribs. Three metastasis in a straight line would be very unusual.
