Situation
A 65 year old gentleman who previously underwent a left pneumonectomy for a
T3N1 non small cell carcinoma 5 years ago represents with a 2 cm nodule in the
remaining right lung.
As the time interval is 5 years the new lesion is probably a second primary.
The gentleman's performance status and pulmonary function tests need to be
reevaluated. If fit and the lesion is removable via a wedge resection this
should occur, otherwise it is of to the oncologists.
