Risk Scoring in Cardiac Surgery
A number of different mathematical models are available to predict risk of death after heart surgery. Parsonnet and Euroscore are the most commonly used.
These models are only a guide to operative risk and the results should only be relied on as part of a full assessment by a consultant cardiac surgeon.
