McKeown procedure
The McKeown oesophagectomy is basically an Ivor Lewis with a right sided neck anastomosis. Some surgeons perform the three incisions for this procedure ie cervical, right thoracotomy, and a midline laparotomy without repositioning the patient by elevating the right side of the chest. The thoracotomy in this case is a 3rd or 4th space anterior thoracotomy.
