Post Oesphagectomy CXR

 

In the outpatients always look for:

  1. Gastric tube - Size, contents and position
  2. Left diaphragm - Sometimes injured in phrenotomy
  3. New pleural effusions
  4. Pulmonary metastasis
  5. Lobar collapse
  6. Mediastinal contour- Can indicate recurrence - See case 39

Wire loop on costal margin. This can be a source of pain and sinus formation. Prolene is an alternative (or maybe Ethibond)
